Do you do wedding photography?
At this time, I primarily focus on portraits, branding, creative sessions, headshots, and studio photography rather than full-scale weddings. My style and workflow are built around creating intentional, artistic imagery with a more personalized and creative approach.
That said, I may take on select smaller weddings, elopements, or intimate ceremonies depending on the vision, location, and availability. If you feel like my style would be a good fit for your day, feel free to reach out — I’m always open to hearing about creative projects and unique ideas.
What types of photography do you offer?
I offer a variety of photography services focused on creating bold, polished, and personality-driven images. My work includes headshots, portraits, branding photography, creative and artistic sessions, product photography, themed mini sessions, studio photography, social media content, and select commercial projects.
My style leans cinematic, creative, and emotion-driven, so whether you’re looking for something clean and professional or artistic and dramatic, each session is customized to fit your vision and personality. I also offer both in-studio and select on-location sessions depending on the project.
What do you love about photography?
What I have always loved about photography is the ability to create something that makes people feel something. I love capturing personality, emotion, confidence, and creativity in a way that feels authentic and memorable. Every person, brand, product, and session is different, and that’s what keeps photography exciting for me.
I’ve always been drawn to storytelling, lighting, mood, and finding beauty in things people might normally overlook. I especially love the creativity involved in product photography — finding unique ways to style, light, and showcase products so they feel visually striking instead of flat or ordinary. Turning everyday items into images that feel artistic, polished, and attention-grabbing is something I genuinely enjoy.
Whether I’m creating dramatic studio portraits, helping someone feel confident in front of the camera, or wandering around doing street photography in my spare time, photography has always been more than just taking pictures to me — it’s how I connect with people and see the world creatively.
Location & Travel
Where are sessions held?
Most sessions take place in the studio, where I have full creative control over lighting (including the natural light that floods the studio), backgrounds, atmosphere, and the overall experience. Shooting in-studio allows me to create clean, polished, cinematic images without having to rely on weather, crowded locations, or inconsistent lighting conditions. It also gives clients a more relaxed and private environment where we can fully focus on creating something unique.
On-location sessions are available for corporate and large teams or families as well. Please ask for more information.
Do you travel outside Langley/Vancouver?
Absolutely. While I’m based in Langley, BC, I’m available for sessions throughout the Lower Mainland and beyond depending on the project. Travel can be arranged for outdoor sessions, on-location branding shoots, events, creative concepts, and commercial work.
Travel fees may apply depending on distance and location, but I’m always open to discussing ideas and finding the right setting to bring your vision to life.
Rates & Investment
Do you negotiate on your rates?
My rates are based on the time, experience, creativity, equipment, editing, and overall care that goes into every session. Each project involves much more than just the time spent taking photos, and I work hard to ensure every client receives a high-quality, personalized experience from start to finish.
For larger projects, commercial work, ongoing collaborations, or custom concepts, pricing may be tailored depending on the scope of the session and intended usage.
My goal is always to create something amazing while being transparent and upfront about investment from the beginning.
Do you require a retainer?
Yes — a non-refundable retainer is required to officially secure your session date and time. Because I take on a limited number of sessions and spend time preparing for each one, the retainer helps protect both your booking and the time reserved specifically for you.
Retainers also cover the behind-the-scenes planning that happens before your session, including communication, creative preparation, scheduling, studio setup, and any custom concepts or planning involved. Once your retainer is paid and your contract is signed, your session is officially locked into the calendar.
Are taxes extra?
No — all pricing is listed in Canadian dollars and includes applicable taxes, so the price you see is the price you pay unless additional products, images, travel, or custom add-ons are requested.
Not Normal Photography is registered for both GST and PST, and those taxes are already included in the quoted pricing. Transparency is important to me, and I never want clients surprised by hidden fees at checkout.
Do limited event packages have special rates?
Yes! Throughout the year, I offer seasonal sets, creative pop-ups, and special in-studio events at limited-time pricing. These sessions are announced through social media, email newsletters, and the website as they become available.
Because these events are only offered on select dates and often have limited spots available, bookings can fill quickly. Early booking promotions are also occasionally offered for clients who reserve their session before a specified date.
Clients

How long does it take to get our photos?
Turnaround time can vary depending on the type of session and the number of images selected, but most galleries are delivered within 1–3 weeks. Larger projects, commercial work, or heavily edited creative sessions may take a little longer depending on the amount of retouching involved.
Delivery timelines are always discussed ahead of time and clearly written into the contract before your session, so you’ll know exactly what to expect from the beginning.
I take a lot of care in the editing process to make sure every image feels polished, cinematic, and fully finished — not rushed. Sneak peeks may also be shared earlier depending on the session.
Do you help with creative concepts or mood boards?
Absolutely! Creative collaboration is one of my favourite parts of the process. Whether you have a fully developed vision or just a general vibe in mind, I work closely with clients to help shape ideas, build concepts, and create a session that feels unique and intentional.
I can help with mood boards, styling direction, colour palettes, lighting ideas, posing inspiration, and the overall creative direction of the shoot. You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out — sometimes the best concepts come from brainstorming and building ideas together.
What if I don’t know how to pose or be creative?
That’s completely okay — most people aren’t professional models, and it's my job to guide you through the entire process so you never feel awkward or like you have to “perform” in front of the camera.
I’ll help with posing, expression, movement, angles, and direction throughout the session in a way that feels natural and relaxed. You also don’t need to show up with a fully planned creative idea. Part of the experience is working together to create something that fits your personality, comfort level, and style.
Some of the best images come from people who start the session saying, “I have no idea what I’m doing.”
Can I use the images for business/commercial use?
Commercial usage depends on the type of session and how the images will be used. Personal sessions typically include personal-use rights, meaning the images can be shared on social media, printed, and enjoyed personally, but not used for paid advertising, resale, or business marketing.
If you’re booking branding, product, commercial, or business-related photography, commercial usage rights can absolutely be included. Licensing and usage terms are discussed ahead of time and clearly outlined in the contract so there’s no confusion about where and how the images can be used.
